Happy happy Friday, it is Friday this is true! Happy happy Friday, Bee Charitable is helping Haiti - do what you can do!

Hey y’all! So as you might know by now, Bee Charitable, has been working day and night to raise funds for Haiti (we’ve quickly learned that sleep is overrated)! Right now we’re doing this through GiveFoward by setting up an online donation spot – if you haven’t already please go to www.giveforward.org/beehelpshaiti to make your donation. As of this morning Bee Charitable has reached 97% of its goal! I want to thank everyone who has made a donation and has passed on the word about our efforts. You guys are absolute rock stars! That’s right – so take our your air guitars and rock out!

The ideal situation would be for us to surpass our goal. I have been in correspondence with CARE staff in Haiti and Chicago and every report I receive gets even more heartbreaking. If I could, I would hop on the next plane to Haiti. But my family (who only have my best interest at heart) would ‘freak out’ to say the least being that the situation is so grim and unsafe. Don’t worry! I still love you guys!

Another way Bee Charitable is trying to help is by doing fundraising events. We are working with our friends to have one in D.C. in March and are working hard to make sure it the best darn event you will ever go to!

Here is some more information about the aftermath that has struck Haitians from some of the reports I have gotten

Combining the two main earthquakes and aftershocks, Haiti has been struck 36 times, which have been measured between magnitudes of 7.0 and 4.5. Due to this people have been forced to sleep on the streets, sidewalks or in shantytowns. Structures won’t hold up because of the bombardment of aftershocks.

Statistics:

  • 3 million people have been affected
  •
  • Death toll is at 200,000
  •
  • 250,000 are injured
  •
  • 1 million have been left homeless

Reports are saying that the area is ‘worse than a warzone’. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone. The death toll is growing because of the many deaths due to infections as it is difficult to treat them on time.

I urge you to make a donation – if all you can afford is $5 – then donate $5, because a donation of any amount will have a hand in helping Haiti and saving lives. Let your co-workers know, let your family know & you know that person you have a crush on but haven’t had the chance to talk to? Well, let them know as well! It’ll be a great way to start a conversation!

Go to www.giveforward.org/beehelpshati to make your donation, put it in your FaceBook status, put it up on twitter and send smoke signals letting people know about it!

Thank you Bee-ians for your continued support of our efforts! I hope you guys have a happy and safe weekend!

Charitably & Fashionably Yours,
